The Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) on June 19, 2025, notified regarding the phasing out of Instantaneous Electric Detonators — Curbing illegal use of Electric Detonators.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that all manufacturers shall eliminate the use of Electric detonators before June 30, 2025.
• E- Exploders shall be provided with the password to be used by the actual user.
• Further, it states that alternate products such as Electronic Detonators, Shock tube, Relay, etc. shall be encouraged by the manufacturer to the user as an alternate product.
